Refer a client, keep the relationship.
Solara arranges business-purpose and investment finance through banks, private lenders, non-bank lenders and specialist funds. When a client of yours needs finance outside your practice, we arrange it and report back to you at every milestone. The client stays yours.
Professionals whose clients need finance.
Lawyers
Clients who need funds to settle, release equity or bridge to a sale, often against a contract date, and who need the finance arranged while you stay on the legal work.
Accountants
Business clients with an ATO debt, a payment plan they want to refinance, a cash squeeze after tax time, or a property purchase that needs structuring.
Insolvency practitioners
Refinance or exit out of an appointment, working capital through a restructure, and borrowers whose credit file reflects the appointment rather than the asset.
Buyers agents
Investors and businesses buying commercial or development property where the purchase needs finance faster, or on different terms, than the client’s usual bank will offer.
Financial planners
Clients with an SMSF or investment-purpose borrowing need, or a business finance need that sits outside the scope of your advice.
Residential brokers who don’t do commercial
A client whose need falls outside residential lending: commercial property, development or business funding. You keep the residential relationship; we take the commercial file.
How a referral works.
From your first message to settlement, you stay informed and the client stays yours.
Send the scenario
Use the form or call us. One paragraph is enough: what the finance is for, the security on offer and the timing.
We call you first
Within one business day we call you to agree next steps, including whether, when and by whom your client is contacted.
We arrange the finance
With your go-ahead we speak to the client, structure the request and take it to banks, private lenders, non-bank lenders and specialist funds, as the file requires.
We report at every milestone
You hear from us at submission, terms offered and settlement, and whenever a file stalls, before the client asks you.
Your client, your relationship.
The client stays yours
We arrange the finance you referred. The advisory relationship, and the client’s trust in you, are not ours to take.
No cross-sell
We do not offer your client other products. If another need comes up, we raise it with you first.
Reporting at every milestone
Submission, terms offered, acceptance and settlement are reported to you as they happen, by phone or email.
A written referral agreement
Your fee entitlement, and how each introduction is registered and protected, are set out in writing before the first client is introduced.
Questions referrers ask.
Will you contact my client without telling me?
No. As a matter of practice, nothing goes to your client until you give the go-ahead. We call you within one business day of the referral to agree who speaks to the client, when, and what they have already been told.
Do you try to take over the client relationship?
No. The client stays yours: we arrange the finance you referred and report back to you, and the wider advisory relationship stays with you.
Will you sell other products to my client?
No. Our engagement is limited to the finance you referred. If another need comes up, we raise it with you first rather than with the client directly.
What kinds of finance can you arrange?
Short-term and bridging finance, caveat loans, second and private first mortgages, construction and development finance, commercial property, SMSF commercial loans, asset and equipment finance, invoice and trade finance, and ATO-debt, impaired-credit and workout situations. We arrange through banks, private lenders, non-bank lenders and specialist funds; which one suits a file depends on security, exit and timing.
What will I hear from you once I have referred a client?
You hear from us at each milestone: when the file is submitted to a lender, when terms are offered, when the client accepts or the file stalls, and at settlement. Each introduction is acknowledged in writing, and we tell you whether it is accepted, within five business days. We report by phone or email, whichever you prefer.
Is there a fee for referring?
Where a referral fee applies, it is a share of the fee Solara actually receives, payable only once the matter has settled, and it is set out in the written referral agreement signed before any client is introduced. Whether and how a fee must be disclosed to your client is also a question for your own professional obligations, so check them before you refer.
Can I refer a client who needs a personal loan or a home to live in?
No. Solara arranges business-purpose and investment-purpose finance only. If the purpose is personal, or the property will be the client's home, it is consumer credit, which we do not arrange. We will tell you so rather than pass it on.
What happens to my client's details, and do I need their permission?
The form asks you to confirm your client has consented to their details being provided to Solara, so speak to your client before you refer. We collect only what you give us, use it to assess the referral, and do not contact your client until you agree. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
One paragraph is enough to start.
Send us the scenario.
Business-purpose and investment finance only. We call you first, and your client is contacted only with your go-ahead.
